Like our own Christian Ihle Hadland, Eivind Ringstad was chosen to join the BBC New Generation Artists Scheme; he makes his debut this season in London’s Wigmore Hall, and with several of the BBC symphony orchestras. Having won various awards and prizes – among them, the 2012 Eurovision Young Musician – he also participates in the Crescendo mentorship programme under the guidance of Leif Ove Andsnes. He started playing the violin at five, and switched to the viola as his main instrument nine years later. Eivind is also a keen chamber musician. He plays a Guadagnini from 1768, lent by the Dextra Music foundation.
