Marie-Pierre Langlamet started playing the harp when she was 8, at the Nice Conservatory, and has been winning international acclaim since she was 15. Two years later, she was appointed principal harpist of the Nice Opera Orchestra. Then, continuing her studies in Philadelphia, she went on to win more competitions, and at the age of 20 was appointed assistant principal harpist at the Metropolitan Opera, working under James Levine. In 2009, she was decorated Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture. She now teaches in Berlin, at the Karajan Academy and the Universität der Künste.
